I want to say thank you for such a wonderful site. It is helping tremendously to overcome some of my raw food issues.

I too live in a place where people have no idea what eating raw food
is. they look at me strangely and are like "so what do you eat? This
board has been fabulous for support. In 13 days I've lost 3kgs which I
guess is about 7 and a half pounds. Have no cravings, no desire for
cooked or processed food and am amazed at how little I eat now. Though
I must have my greens everyday or I do notice that I'm lacking
something. All the best, Fran, New Zealand

Well here goes... I have been with everyone from day one and this is my
first blog. I have been trying to figure out why I have been wanting to
but just didn't. I keep a lot of things all balled up inside and talking
and chatting with everyone was a very freeing feeling. I was an obese
child, teenager and young adult.
At the age of 19 I started the mayo
clinic diet and lost 30lbs the first month I thought this is awesome.
So I continued on the diet and in 3 months 90lbs, then something
happened and to this day I can't explain it or even tell you how it
happened, I developed bulimia/anorexia. I hid it from my family for 2
years.
Finally in sheer desperation I reached out to my Mom for help in
a silent way that only a Mom and daughter know. She got me some help
and I kicked that. Thank God! In the meantime I ruined my teeth, my
nerves, and my bones.
I was really in sad shape and was hospitalized
for a short period. I lost 125lbs and really did look like a walking
skeleton. I have managed to keep my weight off after gaining some back
to look human for more than 20 years by using diet after diet after
diet.
When I discovered the raw diet 6 months ago I immediately started
to notice a lot of health improvements. My arthritis pain has lessened
tremendously. And I am very happy eating this way. I still struggle in
my mind and I guess it will never go away that I am still this fat
person. But the raw journey is working out a lot of hang ups that I still
have tucked inside over food.
Thank God! I really felt like I needed to
share this with everyone. For me mostly I guess. I really believe that
wherever you are in your life is just exactly where you are supposed to
be. So for that I am thankful for all of you. Today was just a
beautiful rawfufilling day. We finally have spinach yeah!!!!! Local
from NJ!!
Well Love and light

All us gals 'met' each other at the start of the first 7 day challenge.
We all stay in touch and have a GREAT time chatting about all aspects
of our lives! You're amongst some of the most noble and genuine women
I've ever encountered.
The recipes are fun and easy and exciting! Even my hubby, who really
doesn't care to be in the kitchen, actually volunteers to make dinner!
He made the raw apple pie last week and it was SO good! Used organic
granny smith apples.
Anyway, keep us updated!

Thanks to all of you for the words of encouragement. It sounds like
this is going to be a fun forum. I'm not a bit hungry with this 7 day
menu, I feel better already! These meals are so quick and easy to
prepare, I don't know what to do with all my free time!!!
Well, I look forward to getting to know you all.
